- Are uncertain about the type of car adaptations required.
- Wish to resume driving following a change of circumstance, such as following a stroke or an accident.
- Drivers and potential drivers can apply themselves for assessments and advice.
- Referrals can also be made through the DVLA, Motability and other organisations.
- Advice will be given on whether they are able to continue to drive in safety.
- The driving adviser will prepare a written report following your assessment that you should receive within about 10 working days.
There is a charge for this service unless referred by the DVLA.

Advice is available on assisting the disabled person into a car seat, and where required, on loading a wheelchair or choosing a wheelchair accessible vehicle
