About
Assessment Types

Our primary role is to offer Driving Assessments for people with disabilities :

  • Who wish to learn to drive
  • Are uncertain about the type of car adaptations required.
  • Wish to resume driving following a change of circumstance, such as following a stroke or an accident.

  • Drivers and potential drivers can apply themselves for assessments and advice.
  • Referrals can also be made through the DVLA, Motability and other organisations.
  • Advice will be given on whether they are able to continue to drive in safety.
  • The driving adviser will prepare a written report following your assessment that you should receive within about 10 working days.
There is a charge for this service unless referred by the DVLA.

Powered Wheelchair and Scooter Assessments

Clients can also try a range of wheelchairs and scooters, and receive impartial advice in order to choose the most appropriate for their lifestyle.

Advice is available on assisting the disabled person into a car seat, and where required, on loading a wheelchair or choosing a wheelchair accessible vehicle
