Introduction to Services:

information & support
mobility
training
conferences

Living (dlc) offers a range of services. We have over a thousand products and items of equipment on show, some to help with basic tasks, like opening a marmalade jar, to more expensive things like stair lifts. You can see very sophisticated devices which can make it possible for a severely disabled person to organise the household - to open and close the curtains, change television channels, let people into the house, etc. We do not sell anything at Living (dlc), but can give details of where you can buy things, where it is appropriate and where to get the best value for your money.

We no longer have a clothing service, but we can help you with advice on easier ways of dressing, and also advise you on: where to get clothes adapted, where to get smart looking trousers that are really comfortable if you are sitting in a wheelchair all day, where to find a shoe service that will visit you at home, and so on.

Our information & support service offers older and disabled people real choices about the equipment they need, so that they can remain independent in their own homes.

Our mobility service helps with everything to do with cars, for example with getting in and out, loading wheelchairs, adaptations for driving, and the kind of test necessary if you have had to stop driving temporarily after an illness.

Finally, we offer specialised training courses taught by professional occupational therapists; and there are nearby facilities for conferences at very reasonable rates.
